Summary
Background
iCount identified a need for a reliable, affordable, and infrastructure-free POS solution. I was tasked with building a POS application system (Tablet/Mobile) from scratch. The system turns any mobile device into a cash register in seconds, and fully integrates with iCount's existing accounting systems.
Main challenge
The main challenge was to create an innovative product that would successfully compete with expensive, traditional physical cash register systems. The task was divided into two main focus areas:
CLIENT
iCount
SERVICES

Work process
01
Market Research & Customer Characterization
Analyzed the cost structure of physical POS systems — the hardware and infrastructure are expensive, which became the core value proposition for a mobile-first alternative. Interviewed about 20 people directly: shop owners, small business operators, and doctor's office staff, to collect real requirements.
02
Definition of the Main Challenge
Formulating a UX strategy that would enable extreme simplicity (self-learning) alongside complex functionality from a single device.
03
Architectural Design
Building a Stand-Alone POS application from scratch, while planning seamless integration with iCount's inventory and customer systems.
04
Development Management & Business Support
Close management of the development team and support of the company's manager in all stages of the business vision (PoC, beta, and marketing).
05
Launch & Success
Launching the product that became a commercial success and strengthened the company's competitive lead.
